In the past few weeks many have fretted about the forest fire situations here in Nova Scotia. We suspect many were holding their breath and crossing their fingers that the devastation we saw recently in Fort McMurrry would not be repeated here in Nova Scotia.
Countless firefighters ranging from volunteer departments to Department of Natural Resources including personnel and equipment from other provinces have battled day and night to contain and reduce the fires and devastation from those fires. Combined with assistance from mother nature, we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief today.
The Nova Scotia Trucking Association would like to extend a heartfelt and sincere “Thank You” to the firefighters, support staff and communities around our province.
The combined community efforts and and support aided greatly in minimizing the damages from the fires.
Your dedication to this monumental task of knocking these fires down was a daunting task. You did so with amazing fortitude and team effort. Community support and service is alive and well in Nova Scotia.
Thank you !!
